Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Chark, Ltd. ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile applications (LawExams and Stay Studying) and visit our website (collectively, the "Services").

We built our apps to be simple and privacy-friendly. You do not need to create an account or sign in to use them, and Stay Studying works entirely offline. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Our apps do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name or contact details to use them. The main time we receive personal information is when you choose to contact us — for example, by emailing our support address. In that case we receive your email address and whatever information you include in your message.

1.2 Information Stored on Your Device

Stay Studying saves your quiz progress, scores, and earned badges locally on your device. This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app. LawExams similarly stores your study progress on your device.

1.3 Information Collected Automatically

Depending on the app and platform, limited technical information may be collected to keep the Services working and, where applicable, to display advertising:

  • Diagnostics: The App Store and Google Play may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance data to help us fix bugs.
  • Advertising Data: The Apps may display third-party ads through Google AdMob unless you purchase the ad-free upgrade. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect information such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers, and general usage data. See Section 3 below.

Stay Studying does not display ads and does not collect advertising data.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback
  • Display and measure advertising in LawExams (unless you have removed ads)
  • Diagnose problems, improve reliability, and develop new content and features
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms

3. Advertising and In-App Purchases

Advertising. The Apps may use Google AdMob to display ads. Google may act as a third-party advertising provider and use identifiers and usage information to deliver and measure ads. You can learn more about how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Purchasing the one-time "Remove Ads" upgrade in LawExams disables these ads.

In-App Purchases. Any purchases (such as removing ads) are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details; those are handled by Apple or Google under their own terms and privacy policies.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • App Platforms and Ad Partners: Apple, Google, and Google AdMob, as described above, in order to distribute the apps, process purchases, and (for LawExams) serve ads.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Security

Because our apps store your study data on your own device and do not require accounts, there is very little personal information for us to hold. For the information we do handle, we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

Study progress and other data stored on your device remain until you delete them or remove the app. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to assist you and keep records of our correspondence. To remove data stored on your device, you can clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request that we delete personal information we hold about you
  • Advertising Choices: Limit ad tracking through your device settings, or remove ads in LawExams via the in-app upgrade

Since our apps store your study data locally and do not require an account, you can exercise many of these choices directly — for example, by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. To make a request about information we hold, contact us at support@charkltd.com.

8. Nevada Privacy Rights

Under Nevada law (SB 220), Nevada consumers have the right to direct us not to sell their personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined under Nevada law. If you are a Nevada resident and wish to submit a request, please contact us at support@charkltd.com.

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, please contact us at support@charkltd.com.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are intended for a general audience of students and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

11. Third-Party Services

Our Services rely on and may link to third-party services, including the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Google AdMob. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
